Definition

This instrument belongs to the string family. It is usually about 1.8 metres high, weighs 36kg and has 47 strings. Each string corresponds to a white key on a keyboard. There are 7 pedals on a harp that correspond to the 7 musical 'pitches', i.e. one pedal for 'A', one pedal for 'B', etc. Each pedal has a middle 'natural' position, as well as 'sharp' and 'flat' positions. Every 'C' is coloured red and every 'F' is coloured dark blue/black.
